Halloween, even the name reminds you of mysterious, magical and superstitious memories of life. We all know the historical background of the event. It begins with Celtic harvesting & winter welcoming celebration and turned into a day to rejoice myths, magic and so much more with family and friends in the form of get-togethers. In the old times, treats were left for the friendly spirits at the doorstep and road side lit candles to help the loved ones.
At the present time, Halloween is all about celebrations with the loved ones. But other than this, there are beliefs i.e. Superstitions in the mind of people.
For instance, the most common ones are not crossing the path of black cat due to a fear that it might bring bad luck to us. The idea is connected to the days of witches who were often believed to transform themselves into cats.
Many believers avoid spilling salt, or walking under the ladder, or avoid breaking a mirror as it might bring bad luck to them. It is often believed in many regions of the world that Halloween is about dead people coming alive to walk on the earth again.
Some saints go deep inside the forests to pray out loud for souls rest in peace. It is often believed that if we pray for the mercy of our loved ones, then their souls may rest forever.
Are we forgetting about Halloween traditions & beliefs like trick-n-treats? Relish the celebrations. Happy Halloween!!!
